Water Testing

When should you test your well?

Wells comes in various configurations, each with different challenges and considerations. Generally, any well should be tested after it is commissioned and annually for both bacteriological and chemical contaminants. Testing is recommended if you notice any color, clarity, or taste changes. Additionally, if your water source is surface supplied or the well is shallow, it is recommended to test the source seasonally.

Residential (Municipality) water testing?

The drinking water delivered by municipalities on Vancouver Island is rigorously tested and treated before being supplied to the public. Once the city water enters the private plumbing of your home or building, there is a potential for contamination, primarily lead found in aging water systems. It is recommended that you test your municipal water annually if you live in an older building and immediately if you notice any change in color, clarity, or taste.
